All items are handmade and engraved to order. Production takes up to 2 weeks before dispatch — this is the time we spend crafting your piece to the standard it deserves.

Yes. Every engravable product is fully customisable. You choose the text — names, titles, dates, coordinates, or any personal message. Front and back engraving is available on padlocks. Use the configurator on the product page to enter your text and preview the result.

We offer five padlock sizes: 25, 32, 40, 50 and 60 mm. All locks are made in SS316L stainless steel and engraved to order. The size guide below shows dimensions, engravable surface area, chain compatibility and weight for each size.

Yes, we ship worldwide. Shipping time varies depending on your location. You will receive a tracking number as soon as your order is dispatched.

We offer a 90-day return policy. If you want to exchange for a different size or are not satisfied with your order, contact us within 90 days of receiving it and we will find a solution. We take pride in every piece we make — if something is not right, we want to make it right.

We use SS316L marine-grade stainless steel — the highest grade used for skin-contact jewellery. It is corrosion-resistant, hypoallergenic, and built to last. Selected products are electropolished for an even finer surface finish.

Yes. Padlocks are compatible with all our chain sizes. The 25–40 mm locks fit all chain gauges (6, 8 and 10 mm). The 50 and 60 mm locks are compatible with 8, 10 and 12 mm gauge chains. You can order them separately or reach out to us to build a custom combination.

Nickel allergy is one of the most common contact allergies, triggered by prolonged skin contact with metals that release nickel over time. EU directive EN 1811 sets the limit at 0.5 µg of nickel per cm² per week for products worn against the skin.

SS316L contains molybdenum, which stabilizes the alloy and keeps nickel release extremely low — well below the permitted threshold. The molybdenum forms a dense protective layer within the metal that prevents nickel from leaching out through skin contact, sweat or friction.

The result is a metal that is safe to wear all day, every day — even for those with sensitive skin.

Yes. All Locks N Chains products are made from solid SS316L stainless steel, meeting EU EN 1811 standards for prolonged skin contact. If you have a known nickel allergy, SS316L is one of the safest metal choices available.
